The construction industry is continuing to grow in Ireland, according to the latest figures.
Research from the Central Statistics Office has revealed that the first half of 2015 saw gains in the construction industry.
The second quarter (April to June) experienced an 8.5% rise in the value of construction when compared with the same period last year. The second quarter also saw a 7.2% rise in the volume of construction across Ireland.
The granting of planning permission has also increased with 4,038 applications granted across all sectors, including residential and commercial.
There were 3,010 planning applications for dwelling units granted in the second quarter of this year compared with 1,606 units granted in the same period last year.
